<p>Wilkes-Barre's downtown is unusually compact for a city its size — roughly seven square miles along the Susquehanna, with Public Square at its centre and the River Common stretching along the riverbank. For anyone looking for apartments in downtown Wilkes-Barre, that density is the appeal: errands, dinner, and a riverside walk all happen without moving the car.</p>
<p>264 Residences sits at the southern end of that core. Wilkes University is a seven-minute walk and King's College a short drive, which makes the building a practical choice for faculty, graduate students, and medical staff at Wilkes-Barre General. Our one- and two-bedroom apartments suit people who want a real downtown address rather than a complex on the bypass.</p>
<p>The building itself is part of the city's early-twentieth-century boom — the era that gave Wilkes-Barre its grand commercial blocks, ornate rowhouses, and detailed stonework. Very little of that stock has been restored for modern living. This is some of it.</p>
